'A Place for Peace'

Inspired by the beautiful area in which we now live; we're surrounded by nothing but woods, fields and wildlife. It's a magical haven for nature and is so quiet except for birdsong and the rustle of leaves by the breeze through the trees. I am truly and totally at peace here and felt it from the moment we arrived .

This painting was created in August 2018, a couple of months after we moved into our new home. It is a lovely combination of mixed media; acrylic ink, collage, modelling paste and real fern! I went forraging for the first time and collected ferns and seedheads, I dried the ferns and collaged them into the painting then brought them back to life using gold, copper and bronze acrylics which made them sparkle and dance in the light.
